The 100 Day Project 2017 Update

I’m three-quarters of the way through the one-hundred-day project challenge. Find out more about the #the100dayproject here. To be honest, there have been times when I didn’t feel like participating. Except for one day when I forgot entirely because I had an overnight guest and my routine was a lot different from the usual, I’ve worked on the project. In the beginning of a project, there is excitement and momentum. Then monotony sets in but you have to keep working. Some of the work is crap and that is okay. Mostly what I do is based on how much time I am willing to devote to the postcards. Some days it’s watercolor, some days it’s using crayons. Mostly what I do is based on how much time I am willing to devote to the postcards. I’ve only missed one day so far. Find out more about the #the100dayproject here To see…

Mentors: Working With Them In Person or Virtually

According to Merriam-Webster, a mentor is a trusted counselor or guide. Mentors come in different forms. The first type of mentor we will cover is an in-person mentor. Where can you meet with an in-person mentor? art retreats one day or a series of classes through adult ed, community colleges or universities art galleries that hold classes private or group lessons at an artist’s studio One of my favorite ways of learning from an in-person mentor is at an art retreat. Recently I attended Art is You in Santa Rosa. This is a traveling event, meaning the organizer offers the retreat in different locations. The five-day Santa Rosa art retreat was…
