Do you ever have days that are low energy but you still want to be creative?
In a previous post, I write about not waiting for the right time to be creative. In my story, I didn’t allow for those times when you are not 100% into the game.
Sometimes I have the time to be creative, I just don’t have a lot of energy or the creative drive. I still want to make progress so I switch gears and do tasks.
Menial tasks like preparing art journal pages with gesso are wonderful shortcuts when you are ready to do actual artwork later on.
For example, apply gesso with a plastic card and wear gloves to shorten the clean up time.
Wipe the plastic card with a towel or baby wipe when you finish and the clean up is nearly done.
Wear gloves and you will not have to scrub gesso off your hands afterward. I get several uses out of my gloves and only toss them when they tear.
If you don’t have any pages to gesso are there other tasks that would help you later on?
Do you have pencils to sharpen, or can you organize your paintbrushes?
What tasks do you do when you don’t have a lot of energy but still want to be creative?
