I had been eyeing the Dr. Ion Super Mega Case for about a year.
When I am out for the day I like to have some art supplies with me.
So, I finally bought it from jetpens. I have no regrets other than having waited so long. I am so happy with it.
I’m a sucker for pockets for organizing my stuff. There are so many pockets!
The large compartment for holding pens is what attracted me to this case. I have another pouch that I made. I still love that pouch too and I use it a lot. It doesn’t have any pockets though.
The Dr. Ion case holds more, is more organized and opens flat. I am going to attach a strap to the D rings on the sides so that I can wear it cross body style.
The case measures about 5 1/2″ x 9″ x 4″ (when stuffed).
There are two main compartments. There is a pocketed flap in the deeper side, with a piece of velcro on its edge. When it is attached to the matching piece you can keep the pens secure when the case is in its upright position and the zipper has been opened. Otherwise, all of the pens would come spilling out when the case is opened if you have oriented with the handle upwards. The flap can also velcro to the other side of that compartment so that it is not in the way when you want to access the pens.
I can put a little bit of everything in there:
- glue stick
- Peerless watercolor paints
- water brush
- spray bottle
- Moleskine pocket sketchbook
- paper towel
- post its
- faux bone folder
- pencil sharpener
- and more
As I use it I will fine tune what I keep in my case. I think it will last a long time because it seems to have strong stitching and a riveted handle.
