For some people, it may be Christmas, which is just around the corner. Maybe it is your birthday or an anniversary that is most meaningful to you.
But for me, I love the winter solstice. It means that the daylight hours are going to gradually lengthen.
How do you feel when people say winter solstice is the shortest day of the year? I have to disagree with them. It isn’t the shortest day of the year…we still have 24 hours to a day. To me, the shortest day of the year in the the spring when we push our clocks forward and the longest day of the year the day is when we turn the clocks back one hour in the fall (at least here in California).
So this week’s journal prompt is:
What is your favorite day of the year? And why?
“Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense. “~Ralph Waldo Emerson
